Inquiry Proposal
For this assignment I was supposed to select a topic, related to the Holocaust, and then explain why I decided to inquire in that topic and which approach would I be using to do so. Before this, I had done maybe two inquiry proposals in my life, but I felt pretty confident when the time to write it down came. I chose The Nuremberg Trials as my inquiry topic, because I found very interesting things about it, and it is a topic that I did not have large knowledge on.
Even though it took me a while to start actually writing the paper, once I did I think the ideas came fluently to me. However, the hardest part was to decide exactly in what about the Nuremberg Trials I wanted to inquire on. After going through many different ideas, I ended up the proposal claiming that “How did the creation of the Nuremberg Trials affect the life of the society in 1945, and what consequences did they bring to the 21st century?” would be my inquiry question. At this point, my knowledge about the topic itself was very basic and I had a lot to read about, but I felt confident about my question.
I selected this artifact as a part of my portfolio because it shows one of my first stages in the class. A short paper accompanied with very little experience writing about this subject, but that still shows my disposition to learn more every time I come to class. While writing this proposal, I realized that I tend to exaggerate sometimes because for a little bit I wanted to inquire on everything related to the trials. However, at the end I understood that is better to focus in one or two points but understand them well.

Research Review
This artifact summarizes so many things that I learned this semester that I just found it impossible to not make it a part of my portfolio. The research review was the final essay I wrote in the class, and it contains in different forms all the things that I was practicing with all my previous essays. This is the final product of my inquiry project for this class, and is one of the papers that I think show the biggest improvements that I did as a writer.
By the time I started to write this paper, I had all the information I needed about my inquiry topic. I used two different sources that were the ones I used the most during the semester, because they were extremely helpful for me to understand better my own inquiry topic. Therefore, I thought they would also be wonderful for other people that might read my research review to understand a little more about the Nuremberg Trials. Actually, part of my review quotes..."They [quotes from sources in the review] gave meaning to the sources that I used and made me feel more confident about the topic and I now know that I own reliable information about my inquiry, that will stay with me forever."
I think that my improvement as both a writer and researcher/inquirer helped me develop a good piece of writing that met the requirements and expectations of this assignment. Comparing it to my proposal, I felt much more confident while writing and more on the right track of my inquiry question than before. This assignment made my knowledge about this subject much more deeper, and it showed me that I am very persistent when it comes to finding what I need to have the best work that I can. I learned that I can work different strategies for writing in the same paper, and I also learned that I don't give up when it comes to finding the information that I need.
